The Huis van Zessen can be visited by appointment only. During your visit, you’ll have the opportunity to take a guided tour, where you’ll learn more about the architecture, history, and significance of the house within De Stijl.

Voluntary contribution

Huis van Zessen asks visitors for a voluntary contribution. This contribution is used for the maintenance of the house and the volunteers who keep it accessible to the public.

Directions

Directions to the Huis van Zessen by public transport

A great way to reach Huis van Zessen is by water. From Rotterdam, take the Waterbus at the Erasmus Bridge towards Dordrecht. Get off at the Alblasserdam stop. From there, you can walk or cycle to West Kinderdijk.

The walk or bike ride will take you past the water and dike landscape towards the house.

By car

From The Hague Take the A13 towards Rotterdam to the Kleinpolderplein junction. Then take the A20 towards Gouda and continue via the Terbregseplein junction onto the A16 towards Ridderkerk. At the Ridderkerk junction, transfer to the A15 and take exit 22 (Alblasserdam). Follow the signs for Molens to West Kinderdijk 89.
From Utrecht Take the A27 towards Gorinchem and continue towards Rotterdam. Change to the A15 and take exit 22 (Alblasserdam). Then follow the signs for Molens towards West Kinderdijk 89.
